Lower Owens River
FALL / WINTERThis classic tailwater located just outside of Bishop flows out of Pleasant Valley Reservoir at an elevation of around 4000 ft. Boasting a very high trout population per mile comparable to some of the big name streams across the country, this water fishes best in the Fall, Winter, and Spring. The rich calcium banks render the Lower O highly fertile which supports in turn large populations and numbers of many different aquatic insects. Hatches on this river can come off like clockwork making for action packed reliable dry fly fishing!
We offer traditional walk and wade trips on the wild trout section below Pleasant Valley where access is virtually unlimited.
We offer our drift boat trips below the wild trout section where wading access to the river is virtually choked off due to the tule lined banks.
